The coffee comes from the ecosystem that within aberdare.
The rivers are Gikira , Gura, Thagana and Mathioya.
The soils are volcanic and rich in minerals that create a unique flavor in the coffee.
The high attitude provide cool temperatures that ensure optimum growing conditions for the coffee.
Mount Kenya and the aberdares create an ideal ecosystem that provide 2 rain seasons in the year that brings in 2 rainfall seasons.
The Coffee has been grown in this region for over 100 years and the knowledge and experience has been passed form generations to generations.
The cherries re picked when red ripe, mainly between October and December and processed the same day. The coffee is therefore fermented to break down sugars, washed graded and sun dried on raised beds.
It is constantly turned and defects sorted. when fully dried, it is hulled and graded into sizes like AA. AB PB etc.
At this stage it is tested for flavor and blended to customers’ satisfaction.
